Community Builders Awards Ceremony and awards

Join your friends and colleagues as we recognize the accomplishments of this year's Community Builder Award winners. The program is always a good time, and with new suprises every year, this year should be no different! For information on how to apply for a scholarship, or to nominate someone for an award, visit the Awards and Scholarships page at http://www.acui.org.

Steal this Idea

Steal this Idea is an Association-wide contest seeking the best marketing and promotion ideas. Enter your favorite projects to showcase your union's talent. Share your ideas with colleagues, and "steal" a few from them. Winners are displayed at the annual conference. Download the rules and entry form.

The Veranda Information Area

In the South, the veranda is a social gathering place for families to connect, relax, and hear the latest family gossip. Join the Conference Program Team at the Veranda for information about local attractions and tours; restaurant guides, menus and maps; conference information; or just a glass of sweet tea known locally as the house wine of the South.

Closing Banquet

No annual conference would be complete without a great meal and great friends! Back by popular demand, delegates will be able to select one of three entrees. Be sure to indicate your selection when you register online. Also back by popular demand is deejay Hans from California State University–Northridge. Immediately following the closing banquet, dance the night away to your favorite dance hits.

Opening Night Activities

The High Museum of Art
Sunday, March 25

After dinner, take Atlanta’s clean and efficient public transportation system to the High Museum of Art. The High Museum, founded in 1905 as the Atlanta Art Association, is the leading art museum in the Southeastern United States. Located in Atlanta‘s Midtown arts and business district, the museum has more than 11,000 works of art in its permanent collection. The recent 177,000-square-foot expansion designed by Renzo Piano enabled the High Museum to create an unprecedented partnership between the High Museum of Art and the Musée du Louvre in Paris, bringing hundreds of works of art from the Louvre’s collections to Atlanta. During this ACUI-only event, enjoy light refreshments while you take in the Royal Collections—paintings, sculptures, drawings, and decorative arts from the collections of the Kings of France.

ACUI After Dark

ACUI After Dark is the prime time for socializing and bonding! Each night of the conference, you will have opportunities to find a common bond with colleagues, friends and students! Some opportunities include: a special Atlanta experience, karaoke, the Battle of the Regions, and a night of dancing. ACUI After Dark is the perfect way to end your conference day and bond with your old friends—and make some new ones along the way!

ACUI Store: Not just a bookstore anymore!

Ever wish that you could walk away from the annual conference with a complete Walker Wireless people counter system? How about furniture? For the first time ever, ACUI expands the bookstore in to a true storefront experience—in addition to the newest titles and the hottest insignia items, you'll be able to choose from select items offered through ACUI Procure. Buy them in Atlanta and we'll ship them right to your desk.

Are you looking for the latest texts on student development, college union, or diversity? Interested in assessment software packages or the newest ACUI merchandise? The ACUI Bookstore promises to be your one-stop-shop for all of your on-site educational needs. This year, the Conference Program Team has added autobiographies, historical texts, and cookbooks, as well as other resources and gift items which highlight the rich history of Atlanta and its surrounding institutions. Make time to stop by and check out all this and more at the ACUI Bookstore.
